Rebirth Significance
Eastern religion and philosophy teach the concept of rebirth as the constant and endless repetition and succession of death and reawakening through kindness and mindfulness. Western theology teaches dedication and devotion to a spiritual path that leads to new life in paradise. However, despite one’s religious proclivity, through healthy mind, healthy body, and healthy action, each revival, or new emergent moment, presents new occasion to change and live life anew, one that is better than the previous. Despite our moments past, we are blessed with new opportunities to change the shape and landscape of our existence at any and every moment. We are only fingertips away from claiming favorable rebirths into the kind of positive, the kind of nurturing, the kind rebirths that allow us to live life freely and fulfilled. A kind rebirth is not simply an action. It is a destination combining compassion for self and compassion for others with mindfulness of the peace that comes with letting go of the past and moving forward with a new vision and purpose.
