Sometimes Positivity Is Something You Simply Give Away

November 01, 2026•2 min read

I know many times we think positivity is something we need to find within ourselves. Nothing untrue about that. We often look for things to help us improve our mood, change the way we think, or we look for things that have “better” energy. But what if we tried another path? I’d like to suggest one that’s relatively easy and it’s something we can do to help someone else in the process?

Think about the very last time you made someone else laugh unexpectedly. Or how about the last time you genuinely offered a compliment, not with the expectation of him or her returning it, just as a matter of offering something flattering? How about the last time we’ve taken a second to acknowledge someone for something small? Chances are, and I’m betting on this one, it didn’t require much from you. It was probably the least amount of effort or energy you extended, and in return, it may have just made that other person’s day. Sometimes that seemingly insignificant gesture is all we can do for someone in that moment.

All of this said, I want to make a practical challenge to everyone listening (or reading): Make one person’s day a little bit better today. Check on someone you don’t routinely check on to let them know you are thinking about them. Thank those who service us who probably rarely hears it. You don’t have to invite someone out for an elegant, overpriced meal…invite them out for coffee or tea and a small conversation. This is one small way to build and improve communities. We find ways to connect and offer humility.

Living positively doesn’t have to mean ignoring the difficult moments in our lives. It doesn’t have to mean that we should pretend that everything is wonderful. It could just mean that even when life isn’t going the way it was planned, we still have an opportunity to contribute something meaningful to the everyday experiences of others. That’s a Kind Rebirth.

In the Kind Rebirth multiverse, awareness isn’t just about understanding ourselves or our place in the cosmos. No, it’s about recognizing that we don’t live in this bubble alone and the people around us, well, they have their own stories, struggles, hopes, and dreams that are just as meaningful as ours. Kindness is a simple gesture and a way to make a meaningful connection. As we become more mindfully aware of others and how we treat them, we start to realize that living positively is built on only self-improvement. It’s a way to contribute to making better experiences for those with which we share it.

Stay mindful…
