Christianity and Kind Rebirths – The Grace of Renewal and Resurrection
The reason I started sharing my thoughts came as a result of research and studies into the world’s religions. Growing up Christian was an identity I accepted but it didn’t always complete me. That’s not to say that it isn’t a complete religion, philosophy, or doctrine. In fact, what I mean to say is that it serves the people who serve it extremely well. There is no doubt in my mind of the relevance and the importance of the true nature the Christian faith reveals. But it’s on that platform that I choose to stand with any messages I share with others. As the Dalai Lama said, “My religion is Kindness,” and I stand by that 100%.
Despite anyone’s aversion to other religious beliefs, I have found that at its core, there lies many underlining, universal truths. As you may have already found, I attend to those that place kindness and compassion as their pillars. That said, I want to focus a couple of posts to a few of the major religions to better demonstrate how the concept of rebirths is amplified through a universal message embedded within each corresponding faith set.
Part 1: Christianity and Kind Rebirths – The Grace of Renewal and Resurrection
Why not begin here? It’s where the story of my life begins. I have learned so much from attending a Lutheran elementary and middle school and while making a weekly presence at my home church for Sunday School and numerous 11AM services. Also, Christianity, is an excellent place to begin any talks on rebirths. At the core of the Christian faith rests a story of rebirth. But this rebirth doesn’t limit itself to the body, but also to the soul. Whether we ponder on the significance of baptism, or the divine resurrection, the message conveyed is clear and evident – through faith and forgiveness, we are inspired and invited to begin a new story or a new chapter of our lives. The philosophy of Kind Rebirths is a reflection of the divine rhythm of life, never letting us forget that every ending to any life is a new beginning going forward.
Christianity does not ask for persons to earn a place in a divine rebirthing process through perfection; it is granted through the grace of the eternal provider. Just the thought of possessing a gift of being born again is an action that carries supreme emotional significance. No matter what evils or malicious acts we have imparted to or on others, there is always an ever-lit light on to guide us back to more righteous perspectives and behaviors. Through a philosophy of compassionate values, Kind Rebirths echoes this philosophy by understanding that the healing we need to move forward in positive directions does not form in a linear motion; it’s a cyclical bridge where the love we share for our universal creator, ourselves, and for others are brought back to the interconnected wholeness of being.
Whether our practice is Christianity or not, we should consider the message which embodies Jesus’ message: “Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ, God forgave you.” Compassion in and of itself, is a mode of spiritual rebirth. As we rise from the ash of pain and regret, we transform into the glow of grace and self-awareness.
If you choose to view it the way I do, perhaps you too will realize that this type of transformation is a modern renewal of the Christian faith. Don’t let the belief that grace is distant from us or abstract in its nature because of the life choices we make, it is only a fraction of the kindness that our spirit revives itself from by forgoing judgment and choosing to love.
Stay mindful…
