What Clarity Changes (Even When Nothing Else Does)
Isn’t it easy to assume that awareness and clarity are only useful if they lead to a solution? I can see how most would think that there’s a lot of truth in that. It’s like once you understand something, the next stop would be logical and obvious, and then the situation simply resolves itself. But as we know, this is not always the truth.
In life there are many moments where nothing changes immediately on the outside. We would love to face a problem, solve, and then move on. But in real life, the issues, the concerns, the responsibilities, and all that come with those still remain. There are still conversations that may need to occur or there are still decisions that have to be made. Despite this sobering notice, there is still a glimmer of light. Because even the slightest shifts can occur and be very meaningful and significant.
Clarity is something that changes how you experience things you are already involved in or with. However, before we are truly able to understand it, there is a sense of pressure that accompanies it. It is an uncertainty that creates tension. That tension, in turn, leads to overthinking, second-guessing or down a path that will have us looking endlessly for the right response.
On the contrary, when something becomes clearer, we begin to see that pressure release and start to ease some. That’s not because we have completed and resolved that situation entirely, but because our minds have gathered better understanding of it. We are no longer wandering through the fog feeling around for direction. We are responding to things that we can actually see….as they actually are. When you experience that shift for even a second, how you feel is impacted.
Emotions that used to feel unpredictable change their dynamics as well. They begin to make sense to you. They still may hit you with the same intensity, but they no longer carry the same weight of confusion as before. The urgency recently attached to them decreases because we now have more room to operate and more room to let them exist without immediacy in response or to dominate our thought processes.
As we think about our emotions, we cannot leave how clarity affects our timing. When we are without it, people are liable to act very hastily in their attempts to resolve a situation before they truly understand it. On the other hand, they may wait too long because they don’t have the confidence in knowing which way to turn or how to respond. Clarity brings something very special with it: the ability to determine that which needs immediate attention and those things that can wait.
Moving from our emotions to our energy, how much energy do we release trying to figure things out? How much more do we exert when we have no compass to gain our bearing or to guide us there? When things are unclear, we spend so much time on other things that probably are not even real factors in what we are facing. Habitual patterns emerge – revisiting the same thoughts in our minds repeatedly expecting a different result, engaging in conversations that lead to nowhere, or letting ourselves respond to things that are mostly pride-driven. When we gain clarity, consider letting it narrow your focus as it is so good in doing. With precision, we can keep the same pace but still learning along the way.
Friends, this is a Kind Rebirth. As enough of these opportunities arrive and balance, we began to trust ourselves more. Not just the who we’ve become in our older years, but the one that had an ever-increasing sense of curiosity about the world. With this curiosity, we appropriately grounded away from the loud distractions and performances of confusion and rapid-fire responses and reactions. This trust, built slowly, changes how we move forward moving forward.
This is a path of endurance not speed. Life doesn’t guarantee easy overnight (if at all). Knowing that our problems don’t disappear despite us understanding them is still a milestone. But they can become clearer. And when things are clear, they are lighter, more responsive, and easier to move. This is, again, a Kind Rebirth of clarity.
Stay Mindful.
Rebirth.
