A Kind Rebirth Isn’t Rushed, It’s Experienced
I stopped looking for dramatic and loud moments after I reached the age of 45. I wish I had learned to separate myself from it a long time ago, but it was a necessary obstacle to bring to the place where I am today. My life was filled with dreams of money and acquiring it fast (in a legal fashion, of course). But then I realized over the years through many quiet moments, that that way of life wasn’t for me and I needed to just slow down and observe the beautiful things around me. What I learned was that lifestyle was a lesson in itself, indeed. It taught me how to survive. But what I realized later was that survival isn’t the goal. How to truly live is, however. Kind Rebirth’s elemental structure is built on this recognition. Growth and clarity, while in high demand, doesn’t deliver nor arrive on our timeline.
Quick fixes are the world’s answers, or so it seems. But how often are things that are done right done quickly? It has to move at a pace that allows the construction of mindfulness. And mindfulness requires us to sit patiently and observe everything around us. This is how a Kind Rebirth is created. This is how and where it begins. Unfortunately, it does not begin after things are moving forward in a rapid manner, no. It begins when we learn to slow down and stop resisting the process.
So why is this slow down so important? Well, it allows us to discern and detect all of the burden, distractions, disillusionments, and unhappiness we have collected over the course of our lives. To this level of understanding, I didn’t find it until much later, but life, in all its gracious magnificence, had been sending lifelines the entire time. We just have to move in an unhurried way to absorb it. If you have trouble finding yours outwardly, well, look inward. Check the Rebirth through music section in the Cultural pillar of this site. You know, I can only tell you how I got to where I am and for me, music was a supreme catalyst. It helped me find the language and the emotional determination and the will to not only find healing, but it taught me a subtle lesson of placing less attention on “fixing” and more on the healing process.
I can’t sit here and write telling you that Kind Rebirths is about becoming someone new and certainly not overnight. I am telling you that my journey was one that started many years ago and I am still birthing every day. Every day I am allowed to write to you here brings me peace and healing because the connectedness I found is about sharing. I learned to honor the time it takes to learn. Being still and patient is not unproductive. It is more a preparatory act of kindness to ourselves. Consider choosing peace and patience over haste. The ride is enlightening and the results are illuminating.
Stay mindful…
